We all know Tenerife, don´t we?...

But when I mention to Luis, reception manager of my hotel in Puerto de la Cruz, that I´m here to trawl these seasonal, makeshift bars I´ve heard about, he leaps into action, spreading maps out on the front desk and marking his recommendations, in between thoughtful sucks on his biro.

The third Tourism Congress of Tenerife (2007) took place on September 29 at the Auditorium, discussing the key points of the changing face of tourism and how to face it.

The conference opened by presenting the “Tourism of Tenerife” prizes. One was given to Enrique Talg, who passed away a year ago, which was collected by his children, Ursula, Irene and Enrique, heirs to the prestigious Tigaiga Hotel in Puerto de la Cruz.

At the end of April, don Enrique Talg, hotel Impresario extraordinary of Puerto de la Cruz, went to Málaga to receive an important prize during the First Congress of Hotel Impresarios. The award is named "Order of Hotel Merit" and is awarded annually by the Spanish Federation of Hotels and Tourist Lodging, in recognition of the excellence of the recipient's hotel administration.
